Re: What are you wearing?

I've pretty much been in a cream crushed velvet XL minidress that is my nightgown for the last 6 weeks except for when I go to the grocery, go on zoom, or go for a bike ride. Not going to lie. Or get dressed.

Damn, what a grandma thing to give $2 bills. Rhoda Lee used to hook me up with those all the time.

Re: Pet Cemetery (not scary)

Here is a picture of Benny lurking by some pizza that I was eating in bed and would not let him lick and he is obviously pretty miffed and sitting as close to the pizza as he can without crossing any boundaries but he is hoping he can get closer and lick the pizza. https://alexmahan.com/files/IMG_15...

Re: Weird Things I Bought

I bought a Theragun, because I have bad painful scoliosis and it's been a month since I've been to the chiropractor. The Theragun is a percussive massager. It repeatedly hits you with 35 pounds of pressure like 40 times/second. I got the cheapest one I could find. It is loud as hell and offgassing w...

Re: Recipes only!

The other night I made pho from scratch and IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD. I've tried and failed in the past, and am pretty persnickety about Pho. Mine was not the best that I have ever had, but it was better than most restaurant pho I've eaten. This recipe is almost vegan. To make it vegan, leave out...

Re: Are there any things about quarantine that you are enjoying?

Last night I watched Naomi Klein and Angela Davis do a teach in for movements on coordinating direct actions and they, and Zizek, are definitely saying that great things have come out of moments of upheaval that resemble this one. I have no hope that things are going to get better, but I am also goi...

Re: Are you working right now?

I have actually been wondering what's going on with the entertainment industry down there. I was potentially going to be cast on Ellen Degeneres "Design Challenge" show (It's ok, you can laugh, I'm laughing) and callbacks were in late March. I'm not making any assumptions about why I didn'...

Are there any things about quarantine that you are enjoying?

I have been talking on the phone with different old friends for like 1-3 hours a day, and haven't been this social since I was in college. I am also enjoying reading for 8 hours a day, and I am getting enough sleep. I feel like an actual human being in community with other fellow humans in ways that...

Re: drinking and stuff

Maybe you could make a Peach or Apricot Negroni - try replacing the Campari with the brandy?

Or mix with soda/champagne for a spritz?

Re: drinking and stuff

I can appreciate this, but I literally went six straight months without sleeping last year...doctors say I have a circadian rhythm disorder because they don't know what to call it or how/why I am even still alive. Sadly Xanax, or hiking 40 miles/week (which is now illegal in my State) are the only t...

I have a few rolls you can have, but you really might want to look in to the bidet attachment

Re: drinking and stuff

I have a drawer full of xanax and have been taking more than usual. I am not approaching drug addiction or anything like that, but the lack of sunlight has exacerbated my circadian rhythm disorder to a considerable degree and it's kind of the only way I can regulate my sleep cycle right now. Anyway ...

What is one thing you won't take for granted after this?

They made it illegal to visit either side of the Gorge or any State or National Forest in Oregon so I can't go for hikes unless I want to drive to Steen's Mountain which is BLM land.
