Re: Shop Thread
For inventory management I bought some stuff from https://www.sustainablesupply.com/ They seem like they're maybe just a drop ship company but they say they buy carbon offsets when shipping UPS and they favor recycled materials, for whatever that's worth. Thanks for the tip on Paper Mart. I have two...

Since the emerging consensus here is that capturing the interpeter's perspective is a more urgent endeavor than any critical message the video may be sending, this profile, which a friend in MPLS sent me, might be of interest: https://m.startribune.com/can-t-stop-watching-the-asl-interpreter-for-gov...

Thanks for that perspective, jamessumneriii . As I said above, my imagined audience for this is someone like me with no fluency in ASL. Is this video supposed to have sound? Thanks for asking! No. Watching it without sound, I was mesmerized by the ASL interpreter's performance. While I'm sure it was not their intention, it seemed to me that the performance could only be read as a commentary on the careless stupidity of the speakers...

- Goggling is okay and is not considered "cheating."
- Learning about birds is fun for all the reasons RCH has previously mentioned.

This person makes a high-pitched tsit tsit tsee tsit tsee sound that often ends with a distinctly accented phrase. I thought of another film one, which is that every time we say, "Oh God," we say it like Cindy Williams says it in the movie THE CONVERSATION. This is very subtle, but it also often leads to reciting the eponymous "conversation" in full.

Looks like you've got some Lesser Goldfinches there, @alex! Perhaps not yet into their full breeding plumage, but cut 'em some slack.
I learned recently that the pigments in their feathers come from the good they eat! So they need to eat a lot of seeds to get that richer yellow tint.
