Popping in here to share the only good Christmas song:
Can't go wrong with Dolly. I also love my yearly dose of the Pogues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9jbdgZidu8
I love how since it is in English it is played everywhere here. So you are walking through the grocery store at Christmas time and hear "you're an old slut on junk" as you shop for spaghetti.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I’ve also been enjoying this Are.na channel of beatless music for writing. In case any of y’all, like me, can suffer no distractions once in The Zone:
@Infopetal I assumed *I* made the Things Fall Apart post until I read your name! Cuz that my girl.
Sadly I learned of her passing from David Was, who I made friends with last year. I want to know every single thing about her from him but I try not to be pushy, he just said she was a truly special person. <3
i stumbled onto the YACHT sub versions last week and my opinion is still ill-formed since i've just been listening to their cover of Isolation on loop for 30m, followed by the original looped for 30m rinse and repeat
I'd like to be a cool 16 year old from Atlanta who can sing. She kept coming up on Spotify when I'd listen to other things and at first I really didn't like her voice, but now I love her. Just a little weirdo.
Spotify recommended (I know, I know) this Japanese ambient artist Chihei Hatakeyama last week and I can't stop listening to it. I feel like the older/more stressed I get, the more I just want to listen to ambient music, especially while working.
Does anybody else feel more stressed as they get older? Is this a thing? Or is this just a symptom of the collapsing world/ecosystem/society around us?
Wow. To be fair I haven't listened to a new Low record since "Secret Name" (why mess with perfection) but this track threw me. I can't tell if I like it. At first I was like "oh wow this palette is ugly" but then it comes back for that second verse so damaged in a really beautiful/interesting way, and then just becomes...whispers in an ancient cave? Really curious to hear the rest of the record. Low: greatest living Mormon artists?
