I am! As is @joni. Both of us would love to play internet chess with friends on Chess.com, which is a great website that is minimally scammy and has lots of built-in lessons and puzzles for newbs.

Never really got into chess and don't want to get into chess but then yesterday my mom texted and asked if she could mail me my dad's old chess set.

Is this how the zeitgeist works?

So it turns out, no chess for me because it reminds me of my dad, who is not a good dude. He is kind of a chess master and taught me when I was growing up. I tried to watch the new show but it freaked out my amygdala too much.
