Stargate is so good. I rewatched it recently when I was making an updated version of my Very Famous Art Vimeo Compilation of Filmic Wormholes for an exhibition in Australia:

Correct. Phil’s turn!
Re: Guess The Movie
(p.s.- Did you know about how David Koresh loved Lawnmower Man? Here are some quotes from this article:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/ ... 6590e1708/
David Koresh reportedly liked "The Lawnmower Man" so much that he showed the 1992 film to his Branch Davidian followers as an analogy to his own spiritual ascendancy.
"I saw God. I touched God," exults the yardman, who then announces that his next step is to "become pure energy" and "project myself into the mainframe computer.")
.....
"I SAW GOD. I TOUCHED GOD," EXULTS THE YARDMAN.

Re: Guess The Movie
I know you like Trollhunter, but I've never seen it (them? are there two?). That is my official guess, final answer.
Re: Guess The Movie
No it’s not any of these but very funny. I WISH the frozens were like this movie. They should’ve been. Here’s another clue:

Wish I knew it!
Unrelated, but related to a few movies back: we just watched CHERRY 2000 and really loved it. Anyone who wants the file let me know! Kind of a high-camp B-Hollywood mashup of Stalker (there’s even a Zone!), Mad Max, the most recent Blade Runner movie, and, like, Earth Girls Are Easy? It would interest Evan.V.N.S.J. to know that it was directed by Occidental College alum Steve De Jarnatt, who also directed Miracle Mile!

I had noticed that it was from the director of Miracle Mile, but had no idea that guy went to Occidental! That's wild. Miracle Mile is such a good movie.yourfriendclaire wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:34 pm Wish I knew it!

He also grew up in Longview, Washington, which looms large in the psychography of joni and anyone else who might have regularly been driving between Portland and Astoria Oregon in their young lives

Re: Guess The Movie
Other fun facts about CHERRY 2000: the score is by Basil Poledouris, the same guy who did the score for Robocop.yourfriendclaire wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:34 pm Unrelated, but related to a few movies back: we just watched CHERRY 2000 and really loved it. Also, the actor playing Cherry later played Teresa Banks in Fire Walk with Me.

Is it Kiss Me Deadly?

Re: Guess The Movie
So sorry I guessed twice. I'm just so desperate to get one in this thread and this is my first. For those keeping score at home my initial guess was based on ritchey 's description of the still before I'd seen it. Once I'd seen and thought about it, I knew it must be KMD.
My still is forthcoming.

Gary don't feel bad--I work the sparse data like a research librarian. This was before the rules laid down about "cheating," which can KMA.

Re: Guess The Movie
Okay here's the next one:

You should know that this picture was taken with my phone as the film was playing on my screen.
It is also important to understand that this image is NOT in the original 16:9 theatrical aspect ratio that the artist intended. This is a 4:3 "full screen" crop for home video.
The crop may or may not have a substantial effect on the image content.

Batteries Not Included
Re: Guess The Movie
It looks like Pete Buttigieg. What was he in...?
Re: Guess The Movie
It's not Batteries Not Included. But it does have Spielberg lighting in at least one shot, as you can clearly see.
For your reference, here's the same shot at 16:9:
