So I bought $100 of onions from onions.com.
And I bought a bike mount for my phone because I use Strava now and I'm turning into a "bike jock" which is weird.
And I bought too much coffee, because we were running low and I got scared.

I had a panic attack the other night and bought 85 pounds of dog food

As told by the other thread, I bought a scrolling message LED sign for $74.74

We bought a bidet attachment because there's still no toilet paper. But that's not even that weird.

We bought a month's worth of ground turkey and froze it for our cat Benny because we cook his food from scratch and were worried about the ground turkey supply chain. Seems fine thus far, though.

I bought three pounds of vacuum-sealed raw capers for $50

I came pretty close to paying like $1400 for a rarified traditional Japanese court music instrument (a sho) that I don't know how to play and probably would tire of. Also child sized bagpipes.

Mostly have not spent money though. Eating through the freezer and cans.

I figured I’d have so much time on my hands I bought an old Sony DSR-45 DV Tape deck to import all the old tapes I shot in junior high and high school.

I recently repaired three things I brought broken for repair:
* A Tapco 440 stereo spring reverb
* 2 Urei LA-4 compressors

That left me with a lot more ins and outs and as a treat I bought another UAD Apollo that was pretty cheap to increase my i/o from 8 to 24. Also more processing power!
Now I won't have to mess with the patchbay that much, which is great, as that can really slow down music making.

Ok, we finally bought some weird stuff (ok, just a weed whacker and some pruning shears) and I'm ABOUT to buy a bunch of 4ft X 225ft rolls of "jute netting" to put over our back hill to prevent erosion after we pull up thousands and thousands of feet of invasive English ivy.

I bought a Theragun, because I have bad painful scoliosis and it's been a month since I've been to the chiropractor. The Theragun is a percussive massager. It repeatedly hits you with 35 pounds of pressure like 40 times/second. I got the cheapest one I could find. It is loud as hell and offgassing weird motor smells but as far as I can tell it's working.

I also have painful scoliosis and use a theragun knock off. I love it, but it feels weird on my lungs— ha. I started doing yoga with my girlfriend, and I also ordered a pull up bar to try and build up some upper back/core strength and that's been helping a LOT too. But my curve isn't super terrible— so it's been doable.

I have the theracane, for prodding one's own fucked up muscles with incredible pressure. I like to do it when stoned, but then sometimes go too hard and get more sore :/

I recently discovered something about myself in that apparently if left to my own devices for a few months I'm someone who can get in WAY too deep researching mechanical keyboards. was recently many up hours into the early morning watching youtube videos of people mashing cherry mx switches before impulse purchasing a ducky tenkeyless with brown switches. who am I…? anyone here all in on mechanical keyboards?

In the interim my writing tool of choice is the Alphasmart 2000, a battery-powered keyboard manufactured for students in the late ‘90s. It holds like 9 documents of 10 pages each and has a tiny-ass screen so you can only read three or four lines at a time, which has the unexpected advantage of aborting run-on sentences. They’re $20 on eBay and I can’t write anything longer than two paragraphs without mine.

Man, I love a mini branch-off from the way technology seems to be inclined. The only other one that comes to mind immediately is the sony minidisk which is a terrible example because that technology was clearly superior to the mainstream.

[mention]infopetal[/mention] the phrase "mechanical keyboard" is very similar to "computer music" to me in the way that I know they mean something way more specific than they sound like and still somehow reading that definition almost immediately has me lost in a mist. My dearest Korn is talking A LOT (for him) and shopping A LOT (again for him), trying to build himself the midi keyboarding device of his dreams. I assume that it is not anything even resembling a mechanical keyboard but I have seen a lot of guys on youtube with homemade devices more or less against my will recently.

Since the screen is so small it’s easy to just keep going without getting caught up in how much I’ve written or how much I have left to write. At the end of a session I’ll plug the Alphasmart into my laptop using a USB cable into a USB-to-USB-C adapter and it prints everything in real-time. I’m always surprised at how much I’ve written. I used to do all my drafting longhand, but this saves me the headache of transcription and gets me straight into editing. I got into this tool AFTER I finished my book but I’ve been using it for everything since and I can’t wait to write my entire next book on a $19 child’s toy

what are the qualities that make a particular color of polymer clay unpopular? brownishness?
