Dang that's so rough about Alex B. Feel better mrbrown ! You two should definitely not go to protests and self-quarantine. The likelihood that you got infected is probably low, but in the case that you are that and you go to a protest that is very bad and not worth the risk of spr...

We did some day soaking at Summer Lake last year. It was tight. Was hoping to stay there in July cause we have some reservations to stay in a Fire Lookout nearby there and was hoping to extend the trip. Hope we can still do that.

Carnelian Coffee is my favorite coffee shop and coffee beans in Portland and maybe the world. They are the opposite of the boring multi million dollar marble fascinated ampersand named new money coffee shops that pop up all the time in Portland these days. I bought 3 bags during this 'tine. They are on the menus of your modern day progressive farm to table restaurant though and available from...

I have put in a gum during quarantine but it doesn't count apparently because I am gum. I'm pretty sure I chewed some while we took a Sunday drive after not using the car for many weeks and we drove to the airport to check it out and it was empty and I chewed gum in the car.

I just saw a hawk (sharp-shinned hawk, I think) in one of the trees in my front yard and then it flew about 6 inches over the top of my Suburu car into the backyard.
That was cool for me. I'm a fan of predators of the sky!

Beautiful Things We Saw On Neighborhood Walks
Just got home from my daily constitutional. On SE 139th I passed a house where a woman stood in the front yard holding 2 sticks of bamboo maybe 4-5 foot each. They were connected by a piece of rope forming a circular loop between the two sticks. She then proceeded to dunk the top of the sticks and r...

I like fruit!
I like to eat it whole and I also like to sometimes eat the parts that some people don't eat. Also, I just learned that fruit stickers are food grade (including the adhesive).
I love citrus season. Really been enjoying TDE Mandarins this season.

The sunchokes were very good. We roasted them in the oven.
Microgreens go with everything.
We've also have oven roasted kalettes a couple times in the last week. A crunchy treat.
I'm almost out of fun beverages, though, and that is something that truly brings me joy.

I've started roasting coffee as a hobby.
It's good to have hobbies.
I'm gonna roast a bunch this weekend.
Does anyone want me to send them a small amount in the US mail?
I'll try not to burn the bean.
